Yoga came into my life back in 1997 when I was trying to lose some weight and get some energy back into my ever so tired body. It was then

just a form of exercise to me.

As my practice continues, I came to a stage when I thought I wanted to take up a teacher’s training course. I took up the programme offered in Pure Yoga in Taipei with Patrick Creelman as my teacher trainer in the lineage of Anusara.

After the training, I started to teach but found that many of my students have issues with their bodies or health. Teaching became difficult as I do not know well enough what is good for them or what is contradicting. And most of all, I surely do not want to harm them.

So I decided to take up a yoga therapy training in the lineage of Krishnamacharya. It was a 4 years course offered by Dr NC who has worked more than 20years next to TKV Desikachar in KYM. The therapy course is conducted with very close reference to the yoga sutras which always has been in the Krishnamacharya’s tradition. In the training, we were also taught some Ayurveda as well. We also have a 2 weeks internship in chennai working along side our teacher as he sees his patients. Those two weeks has been an eye opening experience to see how yoga is able to help people with even serious illnesses. I am most thankful that I have this chance to learn this form of therapy and to share the joy of the patients who has recovered and came back for further practices to strengthen themselves.

With the knowledge and internship training, I am now stepping forward to offer whatever I have learnt. Most of all, I offer my service in the hopes of being able to help people in need and also in the hopes of letting these beautiful teachings find its place in Taipei. I look forward to share yoga therapy with you.
