Surya Namaskar – 我們為什麼要做拜日式?

拜日式是由一組連續的動作組合而成。通常在練習瑜珈之前先做拜日式,輕晨起床後做拜日式可以喚醒身體。練習拜日式時身體會發熱,體溫會升高,皮膚表面的血管會擴張。血管擴張及出汗是為了要排掉體內的熱氣,以及調節身體的溫度。體溫升高會使血液流向肌肉,讓肌腱和韌帶變得更柔軟。在關節腔中循環的關節囊液會將養份帶到關節軟骨,並排出裡頭的廢物。

我們的大腦會根據日常生活中的不同活動來「設定」肌肉長度,坐在椅子上或騎腳踏車的動作會傳送訊息到大腦,大腦再下令髖部屈曲來設定肌肉長度。持續練習瑜珈可以拉長肌肉長度,改善全身的活動範圍,並能讓大腦重新設定「新的」肌肉長度。當我們睡覺時,肌肉會縮短,這就是為什麼早晨起床時身體會感到僵硬。拜日式就像是身體不同部位的伸展操,透過這類的伸展可以找回上次練習時大腦重設的肌肉長度。

拜日式可以交替收縮及放鬆肌群,這樣做可以壓送靜脈的血液加速回流到心臟。當心室處於最佳的充盈狀態時,動脈的血液輸出量也會增加。如此一來,就有增多的動脈血液循環到了身體的臟器,比如肺臟、腎臟等五臟六腑;同時出汗量也增加,當助身體排出更多毒素。
